At birthday parties and company picnics, I receive so much gratification from a child’s surprise reaction to my magic and ventriloquism. It is so special. At trade shows, I get a kick out of having my puppet friends interact with business executives who laugh and say, "I can’t believe I’m talking to a puppet!" It is always a thrill to be able to represent a company and sell their products, services and image. My educational programs inspire me as I inspire others. The letters of recommendation and endorsements are endless. What could be better? Well, I always strive to make things better. I want to be able to reach more children at schools with my educational themes. As a result of corporate collaborations and sponsorship, I am able to enhance my geographic reach and include more in my assembly programs. Twenty years ago I never envisioned my little company would grow to a point where I would do corporate promotions, develop contests and build promotional themes around my educational programs. I never imagined that my peers would ask me to be a speaker at national conferences. Learning in the arts and student academic and social development shows evidence from 62 studies that arts education enhances instruction. Many companies are now learning that involvement in arts education will reap great rewards for them as well as the students. Yes, I can truly say, "I am making a difference". |
